Dr Elias Tsougos is currently Director of the 2nd Cardiology Clinic (Heart Failure and Preventive Cardiology Section) at Henry Dunant Hospital Center and Assistant Professor of the European University of Cyprus.
He is a graduate of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, MD (1999) and completed his residency in Cardiology at the 1st Cardiology Clinic, Medical School, University of Athens, “Attikon” Hospital, National Healthcare System, Greece (2008). Ultrasound specialization at Heart Failure followed at the 2nd Cardiology Department, Medical School, University of Athens “Attikon” University Hospital, National Healthcare System, Greece.
Dr Tsougos completed his PhD thesis at the 2nd Cardiology Department Medical School, University of Athens, “Attikon” University Hospital, National Healthcare System, Greece (2006-2010). He gained expertise in latest Ultrasound techniques at the Department of Circulation and Medical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, Karolinska University of Science and Technology, Sweden (2012) and in Heart Failure at the 3rd Cardiology Department, Medical School, University of Athens, “Laikon” Hospital, National Healthcare System, Greece (2015-2016).
Dr Tsougos is a Member in several professional & scientific societies: Medical Society of Athens; Greek Lipidiology and Atherosclerosis Company; Greek Heart Society; Member of the Greek Heart Failure Scientific group; Member of the working group “Quality of Life and Psychology” Greek Cardiology Society; Greek Cardiology College.
He has more than 100 lectureships, indicatively: Participation in the educational program of the 2nd Cardiology Department Medical School, University of Athens from 2005 (starting year), with lectures and case presentations, and in the Echocardiography Laboratory educational program (Prof. IA. Paraskevaides) of the 2nd University Cardiology Department from 2008 (starting year), with lectures and case presentations.
